Accessing a User Profile

A profile stores and maintains information about a user.

• An Ektron developer inserts a profile on a page using the UserProfile server controla server control uses API language to interact with the CMS and Framework UI to display the output. A server control can be dragged and dropped onto a Web form and then modified..
• A membership usera user with limited privileges, such as writing to a community forum, but not having the same privileges as a forum moderator, or an administrator who has access to the Workarea. (A community user is the same as a membership user.) can access his or her profile page only from the website.
• An Ektron user can access his or her profile from the Workarea or the website. Navigate to Settings > Users. See Managing Users

  IMPORTANT: For Ektron users, some profile information in the Workarea’s View User Information screen is not available on the website profile page. That information involves Workarea settings.

• An administrator can access user profiles from the Workarea. Navigate to Settings > Community Management > Memberships > Users. See Membership Users and Groups
