Episerver Personalization

The Personalization product suite is part of the Episerver Digital Experience Platform. It requires specific license keys, installation and service setup. After service onboarding, you can access it from your web browser. See Episerver World for technical information.

PersonalizationAdapt content to customized target groups for a more personalized website experience, such as displaying different content to first time and returning visitors. (See visitor groups.) lets you individualize content displayed to online visitors, instead of showing the same message to everyone. You can apply personalization to an individual visitorSomeone who visits a website using a web browser. In most cases, a visitor can use public functions and services but cannot create content and has limited access to community content. In an SEO context, visitor means the number of visits to a URL through channels (external referrers), direct arrivals, and internal links. (See also visitor groups.), or for a segment of visitors. Personalization automatically uses intelligent algorithms and also can be manually configured by users like administrators, editors, marketers, or merchandisers. (See Personalizing Content.), you can manually target content for first-time site visitors, or visitors from a specific region. Email Product Recommendations and Triggered Messages are part of the Episerver Digital Experience platform. It requires a specific installation and license.

Episerver Email Product Recommendations let you include personalized product recommendations in any email, including cartCommerce: A collection of products selected by a website customer, with the intention of completing a purchase. Also known as a shopping cart or basket. abandonment and retargeting emails.

Episerver Triggered Messages let you work with behavioral triggersA product that lets you send automated personalized emails via an Email Service Provider (ESP), which are initiated by the the email recipient's on-site actions. to detect on-site behaviors and act upon them through automated, personalized emails.

 Visitor Intelligence

Visitor Intelligence is part of the Episerver Digital Experience platform. It requires a specific installation and license.

Episerver Visitor Intelligence (formerly Episerver Insight) lets you track and save data about your website visitors, for example, their name, email, associated company, and country of origin. You can then use this data in your campaigns, to craft and distribute personalized messages for specific target groups.

Personalization Portal

The Personalization Portal is the user interface for accessing the features for Product Recommendations, Email Product Recommendations, and Triggered Messages. Features include automatic product recommendations online and through email. See also Administering the Personalization Portal.

Personalization Portal is available only if you have the features for Product Recommendations, Email Product Recommendations, and Triggered Messages installed on your site.

 Visitor groups

Visitor groupsSite visitors with something in common, such as age, geographic location, and so on. Used in the personalization feature of Episerver CMS. (See Personalizing Content.) are a simple way to work with content personalization in Episerver, using built-in functionality. You can for example design a product banner, a landing pageA landing page is the target page on which a visitor "lands" after clicking a banner or link. Usually, a landing page is a web page that is separate from the main page, with the goal that the visitor performs a certain action (conversion)., or a registration form, with content targeted towards for example first-time visitors, or visitors from a geographic region or market. Episerver Promote is available for Episerver customers who use a non-Episerver platform. Episerver platform customers can use similar functionality built into Episerver CMS. See the CMS Personalization guide.
