Gadgets

gadgetA small application component that is responsible for its own rendering and behavior, accessible from the dashboard or the panes in the Episerver user interface. A gadget can contain functionality that you can use within the gadget interface or link away to other products integrated in Episerver (for example, a direct link to CMS / Pages where you can use the classic editing view features). is a small application that you can add to the assets and navigation panes, and to the Episerver dashboard. See Gadgets for information about built-in gadgets in the Episerver platform.

The Episerver Commerce sample site provides the following gadgets for e-commerce websites.

Commerce orders gadget

Monitor sales activities for your Episerver Commerce website with the Commerce Orders gadget, which displays orders statistics in a sales graph and a list of purchase orders in a time interval of your choice. To add and configure the Commerce Orders gadget:

  1. Log in to Episerver Commerce and click Dashboard in the right-click menu.
  2. Click the Dashboard tab under which you want the gadget to appear.
  3. Click Add Gadgets in top left corner of the dashboard, and then click Commerce Orders in the list. The gadget appears on the dashboard. By default, it displays new data every 30 seconds.
  4. To update the refresh interval, click Edit in the drop-down menu of the gadget, and enter a new time interval.
  5. Click OK to save you changes.

Commerce overview gadget

Monitor sales data from your Episerver Commerce website with the Commerce Overview gadget. Data is grouped by products, categories, orders, customers and promotions. To add and configure the Commerce Overview gadget:

  1. Log in to Episerver Commerce and click Dashboard in the right-click menu.
  2. Click the Dashboard tab under which you want the gadget to appear.
  3. Click Add Gadgets in top left corner of the dashboard, and then click Commerce Overview in the list. The gadget appears on the dashboard. By default, it displays new data every 30 seconds.
  4. To update the refresh interval, click Edit in the drop-down menu of the gadget, and enter a new time interval.
  5. Click OK to save you changes.

Community approval gadget

The Community Approval gadget lets Episerver Commerce administrators and editors manage comments that are left by website visitors. This gadget provides an overview of the commenting status where you can view, approve or delete comments. To add and configure the Community Approval gadget:

  1. Log in to Episerver Commerce and click Dashboard in the right-click menu.
  2. Click the Dashboard tab under which you want the gadget to appear.
  3. Click Add Gadgets in top left corner of the dashboard, and then click Comment Approval in the list. The gadget appears on the dashboard.
  4. Click Edit in the drop-down menu to set the number of approval items to display, and the length of the description.
  5. Click OK to save you changes.

To use the Community Approval gadget:

  1. Log in to Episerver Commerce and click Dashboard in the right-click menu and click the Dashboard tab where the Approval gadget is located.
  2. View all comments, or filter them according to the following statuses. (Click Refresh to update the list.)
    • Approved
    • Pending
    • Deleted
  3. Select one or more comments to update. You can select the top left check box to select all comments.
  4. Select the status you want to apply:
    • Approve
    • Mark Pending
    • Delete

Comment abuse report gadget

The Comment Abuse Report gadget lets Episerver Commerce administrators and editors manage comment abuse reports that are created by website visitors. This gadget provides an overview of abuse reports, and you can remove selected comments. To add and configure the Comment Abuse Report gadget:

  1. Log in to Episerver Commerce and click Dashboard in the right-click menu.
  2. Select the tab under which you want the gadget to appear.
  3. Click Add Gadgets in top left corner of the dashboard, and then click Comment Abuse Report in the list. The gadget appears on the dashboard.
  4. Click Edit in the drop-down menu of the gadget to set the number of items and the number of abuse reports to display for each comment.
  5. Click OK to save you changes.

To use the Comment Abuse Report gadget:

  1. Log in to Episerver Commerce and click Dashboard in the right-click menu and click the Dashboard tab where the Comment Abuse Report gadget is located.
  2. Select the comments you want to manage. You can select the top left check box to select all comments.
    • Click Remove Comment to remove the comment.
    • Click Ignore to leave the comment without any actions.

Commerce settings for CMO gadget

To use this gadget, you must have both Episerver CMO and Episerver Commerce installed on your website.

You also can use Episerver CMO for monitoring activities on an Episerver Commerce site, such as the number of views or orders for a specific product or product category. The Generic KPI function in CMO supports the logging of Commerce KPIKey Performance Indicator (KPI); lets you define and measure actions on web pages. data so that external applications such as Commerce send notifications using a specific application key. The number of orders is an example of a generic KPI. Application names and keys are defined in Episerver CMO, which monitors incoming notifications with specific key values, and collects and stores the data.

The following procedure applies when setting up the integration between CMO and Commerce:

  1. Set up web services for use by Episerver CMO and the corresponding URLUniform Resource Locator. Also known as a web address such as http://world.episerver.com..
  2. Define external applications, application names and keys, in Episerver CMO.
  3. Define product views and product orders that you want to monitor, using the Episerver Commerce Settings for CMO gadget. (You need the application keys and the URL for the CMO Web Services.)
  4. In Episerver CMO, create a campaign and add the generic KPI for Episerver Commerce.
  5. Episerver Commerce updates the KPI value using web services. The monitoring result appears on the campaign report page in CMO, or by using the CMO KPI Summary gadget for Episerver Commerce on the site that has the Episerver CMO service installed.

Adding or editing the Commerce settings for the CMO gadget

  1. Open the Episerver OnlineCenter for your website(s) and click Add Gadgets.
  2. Click Commerce setting for CMO gadget to add it to your dashboard.
  3. Click Add to define the monitoring parameters. (Click Edit to modify the parameters.)
  4. Click OK to save the settings.

Deleting Commerce settings for the CMO gadget

  1. Open the dashboard, and navigate to the Commerce settings for CMO gadget.
  2. In the check box to the left, select the set of settings you want to delete.
  3. Click Delete and then click OK to confirm.
