(See visitor groups.) you can individualize content displayed to online visitors, instead of showing the same message to everyone. Personalization can be applied for an individual visitorSomeone who visits a website using a web browser. In most cases, a visitor can use public functions and services but cannot create content and has limited access to community content. In an SEO context, visitor means the number of visits to a URL through channels (external referrers), direct arrivals, and internal links. (See also visitor groups.), or for a segment of visitors. Personalization can be manually configured by users like administrators, editors, marketers, or merchandisers, or it can be automatic using intelligent algorithms. Using visitor groupsSite visitors with something in common, such as age, geographic location, and so on. Used in the personalization feature of Episerver CMS. (See Personalizing Content.), you can for example manually target content for first time site visitors, or visitors from a specific region.

The Personalization Portal is the user interface for accessing features in Episerver Perform and Episerver Reach. Features include automatic product recommendations online and through email.
Personalization Portal is only available if you have Episerver Perform or Episerver Reach installed on your site.

Merchandising Recommendations lets you create and configure a merchandising campaignPersonalization (Perform): Describes rules for displaying recommendations. with personalized product recommendations. Wherever you display your products—on the web or on a mobile device—Episerver optimizes the ranking for every visitor, including behavioral data and merchandising strategies.

Mail lets you include personalized product recommendations in any email, including cartCommerce: A collection of products selected by a website customer, with the intention of completing a purchase. Also known as a shopping cart or basket. abandonment and retargeting emails.
Triggers lets you work with behavioral triggersA mechanism that lets you send automated personalized emails via an Email Service Provider (ESP), which are initiated by the the email recipient's on-site actions. to detect on site behaviors and act upon them through automated personalized emails.
Promote shows personalized content on your website to generate leads by promoting a discountCommerce: A deduction applied to an online purchase, typically implemented as part of a marketing campaign. The discount might apply to items, shipping costs, total order amount and so on., productCommerce: various forms of merchandise that you can display and purchase from the public site, including products, variations/SKUs, bundles, packages and dynamic packages., or service. Promote can display a promotional creativeArtwork for website advertisement, such as a banner, that is used to generate leads by promoting a discount, product, or service. on a web page or pop-up. A creative is artwork for a website advertisement, such as a banner. When clicked, a creative can optionally direct customers to a page where they can take advantage of the discount.
Promote is available for Episerver customers who use a non-Episerver platform. Episerver platform customers can use similar functionality built into Episerver CMS. See the Personalization section in the CMS Developer Guide.
Episerver Insight is part of the EpiserverDigital Experience platform. It requires a specific installation and license.
Episerver Insight lets you track and save data about your website visitors, for example, their name, email, associated company, and country of origin. You can then use this data in your campaigns, to craft and distribute personalized messages for specific target groups.
Visitor groupsSite visitors with something in common, such as age, geographic location, and so on. Used in the personalization feature of Episerver CMS. (See Personalizing Content.) is a simple way to work with content personalization in Episerver, using built-in functionality. You can for example design a product banner, a landing pageThe original web page or any of the unpublished variation pages on which the visitor first reaches in an A/B test., or a registration form, with content targeted towards for example first-time visitors, or visitors from a geographic region or market.
