Activity overview

The activity overview shows all mailings for a defined period in a single clearly laid out screen. This enables you to obtain information relevant for the evaluation of your marketing activities – which customer dialogs you have sent, are currently sending and are about to send. Transactional emailsA transactional email is triggered by a recipient action (such as an order or purchase) or event (such as an anniversary). It is sent out subsequent to the event., registration confirmations and running Marketing Automation campaigns can also be surveyed.

And: If your company has subsidiaries, branches or affiliate companies, using the activity overview you can plan, steer and control the campaignsAll elements of a Smart Campaign or Marketing Automation. Set up the activity overview

To set up the activity overview, contact customer support who will enable this feature.

If the optional feature was enabled for you, the activity overview can be found in the start menu under Analytics.

Layout of the activity overview

The activity overview display is divided into four areas:

In the following you will learn how to use the activity overview and apply settings in the specific areas.

Use the activity overview

To get information on your marketing activities using the activity overview, perform the following steps:

Area 1: Select client

  1. Open the start menu and, under Analytics, click Activity overview.

    The Activity overview window opens.

  2. In the Select clients list, select one or more clients for which you would like to display the activity overview.

    The client you are logged in will be preselected. To stop analyzing this client, clear the corresponding check box.

    If you would like to select all clients of your user account, select the check box on the upper left in the list’s header.

    If you have selected one or more clients, the corresponding information for your marketing activities will be shown in the activity overview (in area 4). When you open the activity overview for the first time, the last 14 days are automatically preselected in area 2 as the period to display and in area 3 all check boxes under Campaigns and messages, Media types and Status are selected.

Area 2: Select period

To select the period for which to display your marketing activities in the activity overview, perform the following steps.

There are 3 ways to select the period:

  1. Click one of the buttons last 30 days, last 14 days, last 7 days, current week, next 7 days, next 14 days or next 30 days.

    When you click one of the buttons, the button’s color changes from gray to blue, indicating that it has been activated.

  2. Alternatively, with the date selector, under Start date and End date, you can select a start date and an end date from the calendar that opens.
  3. You can also drag the date slide to the desired start date and end date.

    When you have set a period, the data displayed in the activity overview (in area 4) changes accordingly.

    Entering a time period has no effect on the action data displayed (openings, clicks, bounces, subscription cancellations) nor on the number of recipients shown in the transactional email and registration confirmation overviews. The action data displayed and the number of recipients always represent the value for the entire time period in which a transactional email or registration confirmation is, or was, active.

Area 3: Filter mailings and campaigns

To filter by mailing type, media type or status, perform the following steps:

  1. Under Campaigns and messages, select which mailing or Marketing automation should be displayed. Select or clear the appropriate check box.

    Transactional mails include among others all Marketing AutomationThe tool for creating automated, multilevel campaigns. mailings. If you wish to include mailings from Marketing Automation campaigns in your activity overview, select the check box next to Transactional mails.

    If you have selected one or several mailing types, the data displayed in the activity overview (in area 4) changes accordingly.

  2. Under Media types, select the media types to be included in your activity overview. Select or clear the appropriate check box.

    If you have selected one or several mailing types, the data displayed in the activity overview (in area 4) changes accordingly.

  3. Under Status, select the mailing status to be included in your activity overview. Select or clear the appropriate check box.

    If you have selected one or several mailing statuses, the data displayed in the activity overview (in area 4) changes accordingly.

Area 4: Open activity overview and other features

If you have selected at least one client and made at least one selection in campaigns and messages, media types and status each , the activity overview will be shown in area 4. The activity overview updates itself automatically if you change the settings in areas 1, 2 or 3.

There are also additional buttons in this area that you can use to show a content preview of a mailing, open the campaign analysis, switch to the edit window of a selected element or pause or deactivate selected campaigns or mailings.

Show content preview

To show the content preview of a mailing, perform the following steps:

  1. In the activity overview, mark the mailing that you would like the content preview to show.
  2. Click Preview.

    The content preview of the mailing opens as a dialog window.

Open campaign analysis

To open the campaign analysis, perform the following steps:

  1. In the activity overview, mark the campaign for which you would like to open the campaign analysis.
  2. Click Analysis.

    The campaign analysis window for the selected campaign opens.

Switch to the edit window of an element

To switch to the edit window of a selected element, perform the following steps:

  1. In the activity overview, mark the element which you would like to edit.
  2. Click Edit.

    The element’s edit window opens.

Please note that this function only applies to mailings that haven't been sent yet.

Pausing Smart Campaigns or Marketing Automations

To pause Smart Campaigns messages, please follow these steps:

  1. In the Smart Campaigns messages overview, select messages in status sending.

  2. Click Pause.

    The selected messages change status to Paused. The mailings can only be restarted in the Smart Campaigns overview of the corresponding client.

Please note that mailings that haven't started yet will only be displayed if the corresponding campaign has a Wait- or A/B test node with a send date within the desired time period.

To pause Marketing Automation campaigns, please follow these steps:

  1. In the Marketing Automation campaigns overview, select campaigns in status Running.

  2. Click Pause.

    The selected Marketing Automation campaigns change status to Paused. They can only be restarted in the Marketing Automation overview of the corresponding client.

Please note that the time period you selected in area 2 will be ignored when filtering Marketing Automation campaigns.

Deactivating Smart Campaigns messages

To deactivate Smart Campaigns messages, please follow these steps:

  1. In the Smart Campaigns messages overview, select mailings in status Activated.

  2. Click Deactivate.

    The selected mailings change status to Activation required.

Please note: When deactivating a mailing, the complete campaign the mailing belongs to and all of the campaign's mailings will change status to Activation required. The campaigns can only be reactivated in the Smart Campaigns overview of the corresponding client.
